SECTION – A
1. Discuss the nature and scope of Home Science as an interdisciplinary field. Explain how the discipline has undergone a paradigm shift over the years. 20
2. Define Human Development and describe its significance as a field of study. Elaborate on the major domains of development. 20
3. Critically examine the psychoanalytical and contextual perspectives of human
development. Compare the key concepts proposed by Freud and Erikson. 20
4. Discuss the major principles underlying behaviourist, cognitive and information processing perspectives of human development. 20
5. Describe the stages of prenatal development and explain the significance of prenatal care by highlighting the role of maternal health, nutrition, environmental factors. 20
6. Discuss the key milestones in gross and fine motor skills in infancy and toddlerhood, and explain how biological maturation, environmental stimulation and caregiver support contribute to variations in early motor development. 20
7. Explain the major characteristics of cognitive development in infancy and toddlerhood with reference to theoretical perspectives of Piaget. 20
8. Discuss the processes involved in social and emotional development during infancy and toddlerhood. 20

1. Explain the major characteristics of physical and motor development during early and late childhood. 20
2. Evaluate the role of schooling, social interaction and cultural context in shaping cognitive and language growth skills during Early and late childhood. 20
